About KSANG Seattle

From its youthful inception, KSANG Seattle has been playing major roles both at the national level and also in the humanitarian assistance at home. It has remained a solid support system to members.

Working with a local non-governmental charitable organization called Health Alive Foundation and with focus on the under-privileged elementary school pupils in Nigeria, in 2008, we provided school supplies to Pakata Elementary school of 739 pupils and in 2009, we were able to raise funds amongst ourselves to build Toilets for Erin-Ile primary school (337 pupils) and distribute school supplies for St. Mathias Primary school (358 pupils) in the same village in Kwara State. So far, the efforts have been based on the financial commitments of chapter members. But the task is enormous! While we consult with the management of those schools to evaluate their main and urgent needs, it is disheartening to know that common toilet and mere writing materials top the list of needs of this young generation of our home land. Our finding shows that many of these kids’ parents cannot afford to buy school uniforms, and ordinary writing materials are luxury items to many of them..

History

To whom much is given, much is expected, so goes the old African saying. A critical look at the objectives of the Kwara State Association of Nigeria North America (KSANG) National, an umbrella association for the native Kwaran origin living in the United States of America will cause someone of a noble concern to ponder within himself if the old saying is worthy.
